Manila: The Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corp. (PAGCOR) launched a new website, 'Pagcor Guarantee', aimed at enhancing the protection of online gamers and addressing the proliferation of fraudulent gaming platforms. The website, www.pagcor.ph/pagcorguarantee, will assist the public in verifying licensed online gaming providers and help prevent scams.
According to Philippines News Agency, PAGCOR Chairperson and CEO Alejandro Tengco emphasized that the website would enable players to easily identify and confirm whether online gaming sites are properly licensed before engaging in play or making payments.
Tengco highlighted that this initiative is part of a broader governmental effort to protect Filipino consumers from online scams while ensuring responsible and transparent gaming activities. The new website features an up-to-date list of Pagcor-licensed Internet gaming platforms, allowing users to access these verified sites directly.
Tengco acknowledged the numerous complaints received against unregulated sites that fail to payout winnings, noting that these illegal operators not only deceive individual players but also rob the government of legitimate revenue. He stated that the PAGCOR Guarantee is a crucial component of the agency's regulatory framework aimed at safeguarding both the industry and the Filipino public.
By providing an easy and accessible way for the public to verify a site's legitimacy, PAGCOR is empowering individuals to make informed decisions and avoid becoming victims of fraud. Additionally, PAGCOR reminded the public to engage in responsible gaming and noted that participation is restricted to individuals aged 21 and above.
