PAL Airlifts Humanitarian Cargo to Quake-Hit Cebu, LT Group Contributes Water

Manila: Flag carrier Philippine Airlines (PAL), in coordination with the Lucio Tan (LT) Group and other partners, has airlifted almost 20 tons of humanitarian cargo to Cebu, which was recently hit by a magnitude 6.9 offshore earthquake.

According to Philippines News Agency, PAL expressed its solidarity with the people of Cebu, emphasizing its commitment to providing support during this challenging time. The airline stated that it would continue to offer urgent assistance to Filipinos affected by the disaster, which struck on September 30.

The LT Group, along with its subsidiary Asia Brewery Corporation, contributed significantly by donating 3,000 three-liter water containers, amounting to 19 tons. This effort is part of a broader initiative to deliver essential supplies to the affected region.

In addition to water, the airlifted cargo included hygiene kits and psychosocial kits weighing a total of 654 kilos. These items were provided by the Red Cross to support the immediate needs of those impacted by the earthquake.
