PAL to Donate Training Tools to Empower PhilSCA Students

Manila: Flag carrier Philippine Airlines said Tuesday it will donate training tools to the Philippine State College of Aeronautics (PhilSCA), which specializes in aeronautical and aviation education. These tools include aircraft wire twister plier sets, control cable tensiometers, flare, compressors, and drill guns -- tools needed by those enrolled in the Aircraft Maintenance and Engineering courses.

According to Philippines News Agency, the Philippine Airlines Foundation, Inc. (PALFI), in coordination with other PAL business units and offices, will also donate surplus materials that can serve as additional training aids and help facilitate advanced training for PhilSCA faculty members through the PAL Aviation Training Center and the PAL Human Capital Department.

PAL and PhilSCA recently signed a memorandum of agreement for the donation. 'PAL's partnership with PhilSCA is anchored on the shared commitment to invest in quality education in order to empower the next generation of aviation professionals and help them shape the future of the industry,' PAL chief operating officer Carlos Luis Fernandez said in a statement.

"This much-needed support will boost PhilSCA's technical training standards in the fields of aeronautics, electronics, and supply chain management,' the school's vice president for Academic Affairs and dean Marwin Dela Cruz was quoted as saying in a news release.
