Manila: Malaca±ang has denied reports suggesting that Bureau of Customs (BOC) Commissioner Ariel Nepomuceno is set to be replaced. This comes amid confusion surrounding a document that lists his appointment date as February 2, 2026, despite him officially taking his oath on June 30, 2025.

According to Philippines News Agency, Palace Press Officer Claire Castro addressed the issue in a briefing, stating, "Ang kumakalat na sinasabing papalitan si Commissioner Ariel Nepomuceno ay wala pong katotohanan (Reports peddled around that Commissioner Ariel Nepomuceno will be replaced is not true)." Castro assured the public that the contested document would be forwarded to the National Bureau of Investigation for verification.

In relation to Environment Secretary Lotilla, whose appointment has been bypassed three times by the Commission on Appointments, Castro mentioned that there is no new update available at this time.

Additionally, Castro dispelled rumors regarding a larger revamp of presidential appointees, emphasizing that there is no basis for such speculation.
