Manila: Parts of the Philippines will continue to experience rains as a result of two prevailing weather systems, as reported by the weather bureau on Thursday.

According to Philippines News Agency, scattered rains and isolated thunderstorms induced by the shear line are expected to affect regions including Caraga, Davao Region, Northern Mindanao, Soccsksargen, Eastern Samar, Samar, Biliran, Leyte, Southern Leyte, Cebu, Bohol, Basilan, Sulu, and Tawi-Tawi.

Moderate to heavy rainfall in these areas may lead to flash floods or landslides, as indicated by the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) in its 4 a.m. advisory. Meanwhile, the northeast monsoon is anticipated to bring light rains to Cagayan Valley, Apayao, Kalinga, Mountain Province, Ifugao, Aurora, and Quezon, along with isolated light rains over the rest of Luzon and the Visayas.

The rest of Mindanao is predicted to experience isolated rain showers due to localized thunderstorms. Additionally, Luzon and the eastern section of the country will encounter moderate to strong winds and moderate to coastal waters, while winds elsewhere are expected to be light to moderate with slight to moderate seas.

PAGASA also reported that as of 2 a.m., no low-pressure area is currently being monitored for potential tropical cyclone formation.
