Pangasinan to Establish Three New Polytechnic College Campuses

Pangasinan: The provincial government of Pangasinan is set to establish three new campuses of the Pangasinan Polytechnic College (PPC) in the towns of Bugallon, Umingan, and San Carlos City. Vice Governor Mark Ronald Lambino announced that the programs to be offered at these campuses will cater to the specific needs of each locality, differing slightly from those currently available at PPC Lingayen.

According to Philippines News Agency, Lambino stated that in San Carlos, the primary focus will be on developing the School of Medicine and Health Sciences programs. The emphasis will be on science programs to meet local demands. Plans are also underway to tailor the programs in the other two campuses, aligning them with the specific needs of their respective areas.

Lambino explained that as a polytechnic college, PPC emphasizes skills-based education and training, preparing students for both personal and professional careers. Currently, PPC Lingayen offers programs in Public Administration, Multimedia Arts, Special Needs Education, and Agribusiness. The new campuses will follow a similar model, with courses adapted to local requirements.

The Vice Governor also mentioned that incoming students across the three new campuses will benefit from scholarships provided by the provincial government. He expressed optimism that once institutional recognition is achieved, the campuses will qualify for the Commission on Higher Education University program, ensuring that students will not have to pay tuition and miscellaneous fees.

Funding for the establishment of the additional campuses will be included in the 2026 budget. Necessary ordinances have been submitted to the Sangguniang Panlalawigan for approval to facilitate the development of these educational institutions.
