General santos: As commercial operations resume at the General Santos International Airport on Monday, June 15, flag carrier Philippine Airlines (PAL) advised its passengers to arrive earlier due to operational constraints.
According to Philippines News Agency, PAL cited the airport's limited terminal capacity and reduced check-in counter availability in an advisory. Passengers are urged to plan for adequate time for check-in and boarding procedures while being requested not to arrive earlier than four hours before departure, as the terminal can accommodate only a limited number of passengers.
PAL also clarified that its Mabuhay Lounge remains temporarily closed due to ongoing repairs following the earthquake-related damage. The airport was temporarily closed after the magnitude 7.8 offshore Sarangani earthquake on June 8. It was later opened to military and humanitarian operations.
Authorities previously conducted safety assessments and coordination meetings with stakeholders to ensure the safe and efficient operations at the GenSan airport.
