PBBM and Economic Team Discuss Funding for 2025 Priority Projects.

Manila: President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. convened his economic team at Malacañan Palace to discuss the administration's priority projects slated for funding in 2025. The meeting focused on key infrastructure and food security projects that will be prioritized next year, according to Malacañang Press Briefer Daphne Oseña-Paez. According to Philippines News Agency, Oseña-Paez did not elaborate on the specifics of the priority projects for 2025. House Speaker Martin Romualdez and Senate President Francis Escudero were also present at the meeting, assuring Marcos of Congress' continued support for the administration's high-priority projects, as stated by Socioeconomic Planning Secretary Arsenio Balisacan. Balisacan highlighted that the President sought assurance that the priority projects critical to social and economic transformation would be funded in 2025 and sustained in the coming years. He emphasized the agreement with Congress leadership to ensure the completion of projects aligned with the Philippine D evelopment Plan. Balisacan noted that the priority projects for next year are expected to enhance food security and improve the economic climate through infrastructure development. Trade Secretary Ma. Cristina Roque stated that the executive branch is aligned with Congress in achieving the government's socioeconomic goals. Roque also expressed optimism about new foreign investments, following the SandP Global Rating's affirmation of the Philippines' "BBB+" credit rating and the outlook upgrade from "stable" to "positive." She noted that this high credit rating would boost confidence among international investors, with significant interest in the country already evident.
