Iloilo city: President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. is open to hearing any possible revelations that fugitive former lawmaker Zaldy Co may disclose regarding alleged irregularities in government flood control projects, Malaca±ang said on Friday.

According to Philippines News Agency, Palace Press Officer Claire Castro emphasized that the government is not making any prejudgment on the guilt or innocence of individuals implicated in the flood control mess. She stressed that due process and accountability must be observed.

Castro noted that President Marcos initiated the investigation into the anomalous flood control projects, highlighting his commitment to addressing alleged corruption. 'Ang Pangulo ay handang makinig sa lahat ng maaaring sabihin ng mga taong involved at dapat na managot sa batas,' Castro stated, indicating the President's willingness to listen to those involved and hold accountable those who should answer to the law.

Castro welcomed any information that may shed light on the issue, especially if it helps identify those accountable. She underlined that Marcos has issued directives to ensure proper investigation of individuals linked to the controversy.

The President has been closely monitoring developments following Co's arrest in Prague for alleged unauthorized entry. Castro posed the question of whether Co is ready to disclose the truth and identify his companions without implying guilt.

Earlier, Marcos mentioned that the Philippine government continues to coordinate with Czech authorities following Co's arrest. Castro expressed satisfaction with Co's arrest, describing it as a significant step in the government's anti-corruption efforts.

In response to inquiries about President Marcos's view on the latest development, Castro confirmed his approval, highlighting his directive that those accountable must face consequences. She reiterated that bringing a fugitive back to face accountability is a positive outcome for the government.
