Manila: President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. has transferred Department of Human Settlements and Urban Development (DHSUD) Undersecretary Randy Escolango to the Department of Health (DOH), Malaca±ang confirmed on Friday. In a text message, Executive Secretary Lucas Bersamin stated that Escolango will take over the position previously held by former DOH undersecretary Maria Rosario Singh-Vergeire.
According to Philippines News Agency, Marcos signed Escolango's appointment paper on July 14. Prior to this new appointment, Escolango was the DHSUD's undersecretary for administrative and finance services. His career includes serving as a labor undersecretary for the Mindanao Regional Operations in 2022.
Escolango's extensive experience also includes his role as deputy insurance commissioner for legal services at the Philippine Insurance Commission from September 2017 to February 2022. Additionally, he served as officer in charge administrator and deputy administrator for legal affairs of the Subic Bay Metropolitan Authority from May 2010 to 2017. Before entering public service, he was a private law practitioner at the Escolango Law Office from June 2002 to April 2010.
