Mabalacat city: President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. on Friday revealed that his upcoming fifth State of the Nation Address (SONA) will highlight the government's actions, including measures deemed 'effective' in mitigating the effects of global uncertainties and challenges faced by the country.

According to Philippines News Agency, during an interview in Mabalacat City, Pampanga, Marcos emphasized that he plans to inform the public about the various challenges encountered over the past year and the steps taken by the government to assist Filipinos in coping with these situations. He regards the SONA as a comprehensive report to the public, detailing developments since the last address.

Marcos is confident that the government has implemented measures that have successfully cushioned the impact of external challenges on Filipinos, particularly those from vulnerable sectors. He believes these interventions have helped citizens endure difficult conditions and are paving the way towards normalizing the country's situation.

Marcos noted that while the response has been good, adjustments were necessary and have proven effective. Regarding the completion of his penultimate SONA, Marcos mentioned that revisions might continue until the day of delivery to ensure the message is complete and clear.

The government plans to hold a simple yet dignified program for Marcos' fifth SONA, scheduled to be delivered at the Batasang Pambansa Complex in Quezon City on July 27. When asked if he would address corruption in government, Marcos cryptically responded, "Abangan ang susunod na kabanata" (Wait for the next chapter).
