Zamboanga del sur: The Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) has officially inaugurated a new substation in Zamboanga del Sur province. The newly constructed PCG substation and billeting quarters are located in Barangay Poblacion in the coastal town of Lapuyan. The inauguration of the facility marked an important milestone in improving maritime safety, security, and public service in Zamboanga Peninsula, as it will serve Lapuyan and its neighboring municipalities.

According to Philippines News Agency, Capt. Anuar Inidal, deputy commander of the Coast Guard District Southwestern Mindanao (CGDSWM), stated, "Let this new sub-station be a symbol of our commitment to safeguarding our maritime domain and serving our fellowmen with sincerity and excellence." Inidal represented Commodore Rejard Marfe, commander of CGDSWM, during the inauguration of the new PCG facility.

He expressed gratitude to the municipal government of Lapuyan for its unwavering support and collaboration with the PCG. Joining the event were Lt. Commander Vincent Bryan Marcos, head of CGS-Zamboanga del Sur, and Lapuyan Mayor Nelsa Sulong, among other officials.
