Manila: President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. has accepted the resignation of Presidential Communications Office Senior Undersecretary Ana Puod, Malaca±ang announced on Friday. Palace Press Officer Claire Castro confirmed the acceptance of Puod's resignation in a press briefing at Malaca±an. Castro, however, did not say when Marcos accepted Puod's resignation.
According to Philippines News Agency, Puod, who previously served as general manager of state-run PTV-4, took oath as PCO senior official in April this year. On June 17, Castro announced the major changes in the PCO, including the 'voluntary' departure of Puod 'for personal reasons.'
Marcos accepted the resignations of at least 17 PCO officials last month, as part of an assessment of government officials' performance aimed at recalibrating his administration. Marcos earlier bared his plan to conduct a quarterly performance review to make sure that the government is doing better.
