Camiguin: The Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) 10 (Northern Mindanao) revealed its continuous vigilance against individuals involved in illegal drug activities, emphasizing that no person is exempt from the law.
According to Philippines News Agency, PDEA-10 Director Alex Tablate highlighted the agency's commitment to dismantling drug dens and apprehending high-profile suspects in the region. He stressed that the enforcement of the law applies to everyone, regardless of their status or position.
Director Tablate referenced the arrest of a vice mayor from Camiguin province, known as "Tata," as a significant achievement in their ongoing efforts. This arrest is part of a series of high-profile cases successfully executed by PDEA-10 over the years.
On March 17, law enforcement served a search warrant at the vice mayor's residence in Barangay North Poblacion, Guinsiliban town, with police support. Authorities confiscated illegal drug substances valued at PHP102,000, along with paraphernalia and a firearm.
Tablate also mentioned a previous incident last year where a local government councilor in Misamis Occidental was detained. Additionally, several private individuals are currently facing charges following joint operations by PDEA-10 and police forces.
