PEZA Signs Agreement with LIMA Infrastructure to Boost Investor Services

Manila: The Philippine Economic Zone Authority (PEZA) has entered into a significant agreement with LIMA Infrastructure Inc., designating it as the latest Investment Promotion Partner (IPP). This collaboration aims to enhance investor services, streamline regulatory processes, and accelerate the development of economic zones in the country.

According to Philippines News Agency, the memorandum of understanding (MOU) was officially signed on June 5 by PEZA Director General Tereso Panga and Aboitiz InfraCapital Economic Estates president Rafael Fernandez de Mesa. LIMA Infrastructure, a subsidiary of Aboitiz InfraCapital Economic Estates, will work closely with PEZA through its pioneering EaseBiz Program. This initiative offers a range of value-added services designed to minimize administrative hurdles and create a seamless experience for investors.

As an IPP, LIMA Infrastructure will play a crucial role in attracting new locators, organizing investment forums, and supporting market development. It aims to set a precedent for future ecozone partnerships by focusing on innovation and efficiency. "This MOU is more than a partnership; it is a bold step toward redefining how we attract and grow investments in the Philippines," said Panga. He emphasized that aligning PEZA's regulatory expertise with LIMA's innovative investor services will create a dynamic ecosystem that transcends mere compliance to deliver genuine business empowerment.

Rafael Fernandez de Mesa, president of Aboitiz InfraCapital Economic Estates, highlighted that the EaseBiz program is designed to tackle regulatory delays and permit bottlenecks. "It sends a clear message: The Philippines is not only open for business, but actively working to make doing business easier," he stated. The initiative will initially be implemented in LIMA Estate and is expected to expand to other areas such as MEZ2, West Cebu Estate, and TARI Estate.
