PH Army Chief Leads Send-Off for 326 New Officers

Fort bonifacio: Philippine Army (PA) commander, Lt. Gen. Antonio Nafarrete, has advised the service's more than 300 newly commissioned second lieutenants to continue improving themselves for the nation. "Your journey has just begun. Approach it with the right attitude and the determination to become better each day. Remember: learning does not end when training concludes," Nafarrete said in his keynote message as he led the command send-off and donning of ranks ceremony for the 326 new Army officers at the PA headquarters in Fort Bonifacio, Taguig City on Tuesday. "For as long as you live, continue to learn, especially in service of our nation," he added. Nafarrete also urged the new officers to remain humble and preserve their integrity at all costs.

According to Philippines News Agency, the new officers recently graduated from the PA Officer Candidate Course. In a statement on Wednesday, PA spokesperson Col. Louie Dema-ala said the new officers will now embark on their first assignments at the tactical level across various PA units nationwide. "This career-defining stage of assignment will test their combat leadership, attitude, and warrior ethos," Dema-ala said.
