Manila: Two Philippine Navy (PN) transport ships conducted maritime patrol and logistics run days before the New Year, in support of ongoing naval operations in various parts of the country. According to PN Public Affairs Office chief Cdr. Marie Angelica Sisican, BRP Laguna (LS-501), carried out a maritime patrol and sealift/transport mission within its area of responsibility in Palawan on Dec. 28.

According to Philippines News Agency, The mission supported rotation and reprovision activities in the Kalayaan Island Group, including the transport of fuel, while also conducting maritime sovereignty patrols to help maintain security and stability in the country's maritime domain," Sisican said in a statement Tuesday night.

BRP Dagupan City (LS-551), meanwhile, conducted its mission to transport essential cargoes to Zamboanga City and Barangay Polloc in Parang, Maguindanao on Tuesday. Sisican said these operations highlight the PN's "continued commitment to sustaining mobility support, strengthening maritime presence, and safeguarding the country's maritime interests through routine and mission-oriented naval operations across the archipelago."
