Manila: The Philippine Navy (PN) is augmenting its collaboration and coordination efforts with the Danish government, emphasizing the growth in defense relations between the two nations. Navy chief Vice Admiral Jose Ma. Ambrosio Ezpeleta articulated this sentiment during a courtesy meeting with Denmark's newly appointed non-resident attach©, Col. Anders Jon Christensen, on Tuesday.

According to Philippines News Agency, Ezpeleta expressed gratitude for Denmark's support, noting the significant backing Denmark provides in upholding international rules-based order. "We have a lot of collaboration with the Danish government. We are very fortunate to have you as our friend, and the support you give us is truly big enough for us, and for standing with us for the international rules-based order," Ezpeleta stated while welcoming Christensen.

The meeting also served as a platform for Ezpeleta to emphasize the shared commitment of the Philippines and Denmark towards regional stability and maritime security cooperation. Christensen, who participated in the International Observers' Program of Exercise Balikatan from April 20 to May 8, acknowledged the Philippine Navy's efforts in safeguarding national sovereignty. "You're fighting for all of us. It should be us thanking you for doing that fight every day," he remarked.

The Philippine Navy highlighted that the visit solidified both nations' resolve to explore deeper naval cooperation, maintain an ongoing dialogue, and expand efforts in maritime security and modernization.
