PhilHealth-11 Collects PHP4.7 Billion in Premiums, Expands YAKAP Clinics

Davao: The Philippine Health Insurance Corporation-Davao (PhilHealth-11) collected approximately PHP4.7 billion in premiums as of September 2025, an official said Friday. Lawyer Harvey Carcedo, PhilHealth-11 regional vice president, highlighted that premium collections from the private employed sector constitute 60 percent of the total, while the government employed sector contributes 31 percent.

According to Philippines News Agency, PhilHealth-11 has also accredited 668 health facilities and onboarded 159 YAKAP (Yaman ng Kalusugan Program) clinics, as well as 487 YAKAP physicians this year. Carcedo noted the expansion of primary care benefits through YAKAP, emphasizing the achievements in implementing Universal Health Care and outlining plans for 2026.

Dr. Marie Allexis Campaner, chief of PhilHealth-11 Healthcare Delivery Management Division, mentioned that YAKAP now offers a wide range of services, including health risk screenings, consultations, counselling, patient education, 15 diagnostic tests, and 21 outpatient medicines. The program also covers selected outpatient cancer screening tests, such as mammography and colonoscopy, in accredited facilities.

YAKAP paid claims reached PHP272.2 million from January to September, bringing the cumulative amount of paid claims since 2022 to PHP563 million, according to PhilHealth-11 officer-in-charge of the Field Operation Division, Germaine Tan. Tan stated this year's target is 2.4 million YAKAP enrollees and highlighted the strategy of partnering with employers and schools to effectively capture membership dependents.
