PhilHealth Promotes Awareness and Coverage for ENT Health During National Week

Manila: The Philippine Health Insurance Corporation (PhilHealth) on Friday urged the public to give due attention to conditions affecting the ears, nose, and throat (ENT) as the country marked Ear, Nose, and Throat Consciousness Week from Dec. 3 to 9. With the theme emphasizing the importance of hearing, smell, and breathing in overall well-being, PhilHealth reminded Filipinos that ENT functions play a crucial role in daily activities and quality of life.

According to Philippines News Agency, as part of the observance, the agency also underscored the availability of several benefit packages covering common ENT-related procedures. PhilHealth said members may avail of up to PHP35,100 for tonsillectomy or adenoidectomy; PHP59,943 for tympanoplasty without mastoidectomy; PHP25,155 for septoplasty; and PHP35,100 for sinus endoscopy.

For conditions such as otosclerosis, a type of hearing loss, selected surgical procedures like stapedectomy may also be covered with benefits reaching up to PHP75,348. To further assist members, PhilHealth highlighted its Yaman ng Kalusugan Program (Wealth of Health Program) or YAKAP program, which provides free consultations and select medicines through accredited YAKAP clinics.
