Jakarta: Filipino accommodation Nawa Wellness had been feted as Asia Pacific's top wellness resort by the Asia Pacific Spa and Wellness Coalition (APSWC) in Jakarta, Indonesia. Located in Calatagan, Batangas, Nawa Wellness received two recognitions -- Asia Pacific's Best Resort of the Year and Best Wellness Innovation of the Year -- in an awarding ceremony held last April 25.
According to Philippines News Agency, Nawa Wellness Operations Manager Tanya Deldar affirmed this citation as a boost to Philippine tourism, especially as the industry positions wellness tourism as one of its emerging top tourism products. "It is truly an honor to receive this award, especially at this time when Wellness has become a significant pillar of Philippine tourism. This opens up more avenues for the Philippines to be recognized as a credible wellness space, both in the local and international scene," she said.
Nawa Wellness offers various products that immerse its guests in traditional Filipino practices of relaxation and healing, such as 'hilot' and baths using 'kawa' (cauldron), to name a few. Equally intentional are Nawa's private suites -- each inspired by iconic Philippine destinations, blending natural materials, traditional design, and contemporary comfort.
Nawa Wellness said these serene sanctuaries serve as more than just accommodations but are extensions of the healing journey to help guests reconnect with self, space, and spirit. Nawa Wellness is the wellness venture of Araw Hospitality Group, which is also responsible for Lihim Resorts in El Nido and UNWND Boutique Hotels.
