Pilot 4PH Rental Housing Model Unit Unveiled in UP

Quezon city: The Department of Human Settlements and Urban Development (DHSUD) and the University of the Philippines (UP) Diliman unveiled the model unit for a rental housing project on Thursday.

According to Philippines News Agency, the UP Diliman management welcomed the UP Southern Diliman Gardens project, emphasizing its importance for the community. DHSUD Secretary Jose Ramon Aliling and UP Diliman Chancellor Edgardo Carlo Vistan II led the ribbon-cutting ceremony for this significant initiative.

The Megawide Construction Corp., tasked with executing the project, has committed to completing at least five buildings by June 2027. The Southern Diliman Gardens is part of the pioneering rental housing models under the expanded Pambansang Pabahay para sa Pilipino (4PH) program.

The DHSUD and UP formalized the implementation of the project in November 2025 through a memorandum of agreement under the Expanded 4PH Program. The Marcos administration, through this initiative, aims to provide affordable rental housing for UP faculty members, non-teaching personnel, and long-time informal settler families within the campus.
