Central luzon: The Police Regional Office in Central Luzon (PRO-3) achieved a 100 percent arrest rate early this month, capturing the region's top 10 most wanted persons (MWPs) within a 24-hour period. In a Thursday report, the PRO-3 stated that the MWPs were arrested across the region from 1 a.m. on July 1 to 1 a.m. on July 2, and are now in police custody.
According to Philippines News Agency, the individuals arrested face various charges, including murder, robbery, carjacking, rape, qualified rape, statutory rape, and rape by sexual assault. All were apprehended on warrants issued by various local courts, with no bail recommended for the applicable offenses.
Of the total MWPs, three were apprehended in Bulacan province, two in Nueva Ecija, and one each in Aurora, Bataan, Pampanga, Tarlac, and Zambales. PRO-3 Director Brig. Gen. Jess B. Mendez praised the operating units for their dedication and coordinated efforts, leading to the successful operation.
"Achieving a 100 percent arrest rate for our July Top 10 Regional MWPs within 24 hours reflects the dedication, discipline, and seamless coordination of our operating units across Central Luzon. More importantly, it sends a strong message that no fugitive is beyond the reach of the law," Mendez stated.
Mendez emphasized that while all individuals on the regional MWP list have been accounted for, the PRO3 will continue its campaign against fugitives through intelligence-driven operations and intensified manhunts to ensure they are brought to justice.
