Manila: The Philippine National Police (PNP) has bolstered its collaboration with China's Fujian Provincial Public Security Department to enhance intelligence sharing and law enforcement efforts against transnational criminal organizations.
According to Philippines News Agency, the PNP chief, Gen. Jose Melencio Nartatez Jr., welcomed Wang Xizhang, executive director general of the Fujian Provincial Public Security Department, during a recent courtesy visit at the Star Officer's Lounge in Camp Crame. The meeting reaffirmed the enduring partnership between the two agencies and focused on expanding cooperation to combat transnational crime, cybercrime, kidnapping, and other mutual security issues.
Gen. Nartatez emphasized that the insights and best practices gained from this partnership will be disseminated to police operating units across the country. The goal is to equip every police office with improved capabilities to investigate transnational crimes, respond to cyber threats, and enhance intelligence gathering using internationally recognized methods.
In response to these efforts, Nartatez has instructed all Police Regional Offices to intensify their intelligence monitoring of transnational criminal groups operating within their areas. Additionally, he has urged concerned units to incorporate international best practices from foreign law enforcement partners into their training and operational strategies to strengthen the PNP's ability to address cross-border crimes.
Both the PNP and Fujian Provincial Public Security Department highlighted the significance of ongoing dialogue, intelligence sharing, and capacity-building initiatives as essential measures to tackle evolving security threats. These efforts aim to promote regional peace and public safety through closer international law enforcement cooperation.
Gen. Nartatez reiterated the commitment to ensuring that there will be no refuge for transnational criminals, affirming the PNP's dedication to working closely with international counterparts to track, investigate, and bring offenders to justice regardless of their location.
