Mimaropa: The Police Regional Office in Mimaropa Region (PRO-4B) has made significant strides in its law enforcement efforts, arresting 796 suspects and confiscating contraband worth over PHP45 million in a series of operations conducted from May 8 to August 10, 2026. Brigadier General Christopher Dela Cruz, who assumed the role of regional director on May 9, led these initiatives across the provinces of Oriental and Occidental Mindoro, Marinduque, Romblon, and Palawan.
According to Philippines News Agency, the operations successfully targeted illegal drug activities, resulting in 132 arrests and the seizure of various narcotics, including shabu, marijuana, kush, and cocaine, valued at PHP15,185,283 through 119 police operations. The anti-smuggling efforts led to 29 arrests and the confiscation of smuggled goods estimated at PHP30,330,162. Additionally, operations addressing loose firearms resulted in the surrender or confiscation of 145 firearms.
The Mimaropa police also intensified their focus on capturing wanted individuals, arresting 635 persons, which included 166 most wanted and 469 other wanted suspects. This figure marks a 23.54 percent increase from the 514 arrests made during the same timeframe in 2025.
Efforts to combat insurgency were also fruitful, with 24 members of communist terrorist groups surrendering and one additional member being apprehended. These comprehensive operations contributed to a reduction in crime across the region. The total reported crime incidents decreased to 1,358 from 1,514 in the previous year, indicating a 10.30 percent decline, while index and focus crimes saw a 29.20 percent drop.
Brigadier General Dela Cruz praised the dedication and teamwork of PRO Mimaropa members, stating, "This is a testament to the hard work, commitment, and collective efforts of every member of PRO Mimaropa.
