Manila: Seven senior officials have been reassigned in the latest reorganization of the Philippine National Police (PNP), including the directors of two police districts in the National Capital Region.

According to Philippines News Agency, in a document obtained on Sunday, Eastern Police District (EPD) Director Brig. Gen. Melecio Buslig Jr. has been designated as chief of the PNP Firearms and Explosives Office (FEO), while Southern Police District (SPD) Director Brig. Gen. Glenn Oliver Cinco has been named chief of the Supervisory Office for Security and Investigation Agencies (SOSIA).

The FEO is a specialized unit under the PNP Civil Security Group (CSG) that regulates and manages the legal ownership, control, and use of firearms and explosives in the country. Meanwhile, the SOSIA, also under the CSG, is responsible for regulating, licensing, and supervising private security agencies.

Brig. Gen. Roman Arugay, formerly with the Office of the PNP chief, will take over as Buslig as EPD director, while Brig. Gen. Rodel Pastor will assume the post of SPD director from Cinco.

In other changes, Police Regional Office (PRO)-Eastern Visayas Director Brig. Gen. Jason Capoy has been designated as chief of the Human Rights Affairs Office, also under the Office of the PNP chief. Capoy will be replaced by Brig. Gen. Romano Cardi±o, who will pass the leadership of PRO-Negros Island Region to Brig. Gen. Rudecindo Reales.

The reshuffle takes effect on September 7.
