Portugal: Portugal has extended its nationwide wildfire alert until Sunday, with 37 active blazes continuing to rage across the country, authorities reported on Friday. According to Philippines News Agency, in neighboring Spain, 14 major fires remain at risk level 2, with significant blazes in Zamora and Leon. These might be the largest in the country's history, as reported by local media, El Pais. Tragically, three people have died, and several others have been injured. Authorities have arrested a suspect in connection with two fires in Ourense. Nearly 115,000 hectares have been scorched in recent days due to these ferocious wildfires.
French weather agency Meteo-France has issued warnings about extreme fire risk in the southwest of France, as the region continues to experience soaring temperatures. In Albania, authorities reported 28 wildfires during the same period. Of these, three remain active, and six are under monitoring. Officials in Albania have indicated that the situation has significantly improved.
