Manila: A scheduled power maintenance will take place at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) Terminal 3 on Thursday, May 29, affecting the international side of the terminal.
According to Philippines News Agency, this maintenance activity will render the boarding bridges at Gates 101 to 111, located in the international wing of the south concourse, unavailable from 8 a.m. to 12 noon. However, Gate 101 will remain operational during this period and will function as an international bus gate, as stated by the airport operator, New NAIA Infra Corp. (NNIC).
The NNIC assured that measures are in place to minimize any disruptions caused by the maintenance work. Passengers are encouraged to coordinate with airlines for any flight-related concerns they may have.
This maintenance comes after previous power-related incidents at the terminal. In September 2022, a power outage led to delays for at least 31 flights, disrupting operations, manual check-in, baggage loading, and causing longer processing times at immigration counters. Similarly, in June 2023, another power interruption resulted in the cancellation of seven flights and long queues at immigration, highlighting the importance of this scheduled maintenance to prevent future disruptions.
