PRO-10 Reports Zero Holiday Casualty, Credits Police Visibility

Manila: Police in Northern Mindanao reported zero casualty city and a peaceful Christmas celebration, crediting sustained police visibility and public cooperation.

According to Philippines News Agency, Brig. Gen. Christopher Abrahano of Police Regional Office 10 (PRO-10) said Thursday the "Ligtas Paskuhan 2025" campaign, active from Dec. 16 to 25, saw no fatality or injury from firecrackers, road crashes, stray bullets, or related fires.

'The absence of casualties and major crimes during the Christmas celebration demonstrates the impact of sustained police visibility and the cooperation of our local government units, partner agencies, and the public,' Abrahano said.

While one illegal firearms discharge incident occurred, there was no casualty and the police arrested a suspect and seized the weapon. Authorities confiscated 1,123 illegal firecrackers in preventive operations.

Meanwhile, PRO-10 swore in 30 new police recruits Friday, adding to the 290 who took their oaths on Dec. 17.
