PRO-5 Deploys 2,600 Police Officers for Pe±afrancia Festival 2026

Naga city: The Police Regional Office-Bicol (PRO-5) deployed 2,600 police officers to secure the Pe±afrancia Festival 2026 in Naga City, Camarines Sur, covering key locations such as venues, roads, transport hubs, and other crowded areas.

According to Philippines News Agency, PRO-5 Regional Director Brig. Gen. Randy Glenn Silvio stated that he will oversee the security preparations, including inspections and monitoring of deployed personnel during the festivities, which run from September 6 to 19. Brig. Gen. Silvio emphasized the importance of ensuring the safety and security of all attendees, stating, "We want people to celebrate the Pe±afrancia Festival with faith and devotion while ensuring that everyone remains safe and secure. Our personnel will be highly visible and ready to assist the public."

PRO-5 officers will also assist with traffic management, facilitate the movement of festivalgoers, and respond to incidents and requests for police assistance during the two-week celebration. Additionally, officers have attended the signing of the memorandum of understanding for the Pe±afrancia 2026 multi-agency coordination group. This formalized collaboration with the Naga City government, Archdiocese of Caceres, Bureau of Fire Protection, and the Philippine Coast Guard, among others, aims to ensure the safety and security of devotees and visitors.

Naga City Mayor Leni Robredo extended a warm welcome to devotees of Our Lady of Pe±afrancia, the patroness of the Bicol Region, as well as visitors traveling to Naga City. At a press conference on Monday, she expressed her hope for a safe and joyful visit, inviting everyone to experience the hospitality and charm of the city.

In addition to festival-related duties, police units across the region will continue regular law enforcement operations to prevent crime and address threats to public safety. PRO-5 has reminded festivalgoers to take precautions in crowded areas, secure their personal belongings, and keep track of children, elderly companions, and other group members.

The Pe±afrancia Festival is one of the major religious and cultural celebrations in Bicol, attracting thousands of devotees and visitors to Naga City and the surrounding areas each year.
