PSA Mobile Civil Registration System Benefits Nearly 2,000 Pangasinenses

Manila: The mobile civil registration system (CRS) of the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) has served 1,969 Pangasinenses from January 28 to July 13 this year, an official revealed on Tuesday.

According to Philippines News Agency, PSA 1 (Ilocos Region) registration officer Zenaida Garcillan noted in a phone interview that the mobile CRS provided crucial services such as requests for birth, marriage, and death certificates, as well as CENOMAR (Certificate of No Marriage) and CENODEATH (Certificate of No Death). Additionally, national identification services, including registration, demographic information updates, and issuance of the National ID in printed paper format, were made available.

During this period, the mobile CRS units were operational in the towns of Lingayen and Balungao and in the cities of San Carlos, Urdaneta, and Dagupan. "The schedules for the mobile CRS this July are in Malasiqui, Pangasinan, from July 13 to 15, and in Aguilar from July 16 to 18," Garcillan stated.

The initiative is geared towards bringing quality, accessible, and citizen-centered government services closer to every Filipino, ensuring convenient access to civil registration and National ID services without the need to travel far, as emphasized by the PSA.

In a mobile phone interview on Tuesday, Veborah Garcia from Malasiqui, Pangasinan, expressed gratitude for the mobile CRS program. "Getting a birth certificate copy and marriage certificate copy was made easier. We got the copy right away," she said in Filipino, highlighting the convenience for future work-related endeavors.

Another resident, Estrellita Beltran of Malasiqui town, shared her relief, indicating it was an answered prayer as they no longer needed to travel to Calasiao town or Rosales town to access PSA's services. She praised the system's organization, stating that all one needed were identification cards to request PSA documents smoothly.

Fidel De Guzman from Dagupan City also applauded the initiative, describing the national ID registration as 'stress-free' due to the mobile CRS's proximity. "We were able to save time and money since the venue was near our house," he remarked.
