Rains Forecast in Most of PH Due to Multiple Weather Systems

Manila: Most areas in the country will still experience rains caused by several weather systems on Wednesday geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA). The Intertropical Convergence Zone (ITCZ), shear line, and easterlies will bring scattered rains and thunderstorms across Davao Region, Soccsksargen, Eastern Visayas, Basilan, Sulu, Tawi-Tawi, Cagayan, Isabela, Apayao, Kalinga, Mountain Province, Ifugao, Caraga, Aurora, Quezon, and Camarines Norte. According to Philippines News Agency, moderate to heavy rains in those areas could result in flash floods or landslides, the weather bureau said. Meanwhile, the northeast monsoon, also known as "amihan," will bring rains to Batanes and Ilocos Norte. The rest of the country will experience isolated rain showers due to the ITCZ and easterlies. Moderate to strong winds and moderate to rough coastal waters will prevail across Northern Luzon. Elsewhere, winds will be light to moderate with slight to moderate seas, PAGASA said. Meanwhile, PAGASA said that as of 2 a.m., no low pressure area is being monitored for possible tropical cyclone formation.
