Remulla Orders NBI to Investigate Alleged Campaign on His Health

Tagaytay: Ombudsman Jesus Crispin 'Boying' Remulla has tasked the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) to identify individuals behind an organized campaign to spread slanderous social media posts about his health.

According to Philippines News Agency, Remulla stated in a press conference that there is an orchestrated effort to disseminate false information about his health, which he suspects might be part of a propaganda machine linked to certain political parties.

Remulla emphasized the seriousness of the situation, noting that the campaign has reached the threshold of cyberlibel. He expressed his determination to investigate the matter thoroughly and uncover the origins and purpose of the misinformation being circulated.

Contrary to the claims made on social media, Remulla confirmed that he is in good health and fully capable of fulfilling his responsibilities as the nation's Ombudsman. He shared details of his daily routine, which includes regular exercise and maintaining healthy sleep habits, to counter the false narratives about his health.

Remulla highlighted the persistence of these rumors, recounting how misinformation continued to spread even after he appeared on his radio program. He described the situation as an example of "bad faith" from those propagating these stories, suggesting that they are actively seeking topics to exploit for their purposes.

Remulla, who previously held the position of secretary of the Department of Justice, was appointed Ombudsman by President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. in October 2025.
