Reyes Cup and Philippines Open Pool Championship Set to Thrill Fans in Quezon City

Manila: The World Nineball Tour, in partnership with Puyat Sports, announced Tuesday the return of the Reyes Cup and the Philippines Open Pool Championship. The Reyes Cup will take place from October 15-18, followed by the Philippines Open Pool Championship from October 20-24 at the Gateway Mall in Quezon City.

According to Philippines News Agency, Team Asia, led by the legendary Francisco "Django" Bustamante, will defend the Reyes Cup as back-to-back champions after their 11-3 victory in 2025. Ralf Souquet, a notable figure in the sport, will lead Team Rest of the World for the first time.

Aristeo 'Putch' Puyat expressed pride in bringing back the Reyes Cup and the Philippines Open in 2026, highlighting the unique atmosphere created by the Filipino fans. The 2025 inaugural edition of the event set high standards, featuring a single elimination format and a vibrant audience, with Spain's David Alcaide emerging as the champion.

Excitement is building among fans eager to see reigning world champion Carlo Biado compete on home ground. Reyes emphasized the significance of the Philippines as a hub for pool, praising the exceptional talent in Asia and the enthusiastic support from Manila's crowd, which adds a special energy to the events.
