Manila: Presidential Communications Office (PCO) Senior Undersecretary Emerald Ridao has been appointed as the Officer-in-Charge (OIC) of the agency from February 17 to 21, 2025. This temporary appointment comes as PCO Acting Secretary Cesar Chavez takes a short leave.
According to Philippines News Agency, Chavez confirmed the arrangement, stating that Ridao will manage the day-to-day operations of the PCO during this period. Chavez communicated with Palace reporters through a text message, explaining that he aims to maintain productivity even while on leave.
A department order, signed by Chavez, outlines Ridao's responsibilities. It states that Ridao will not only handle daily operations but will also have the authority to act on behalf of the Acting Secretary if necessary.
