Manila: The Philippine Navy (PN) conducted a donning ceremony on Wednesday for seven newly promoted flag and general officers at its headquarters located at Naval Station Jose Andrada, Roxas Boulevard, Manila. Navy chief Vice Adm. Jose Ma. Ambrosio Ezpeleta presided over the ceremony.
According to Philippines News Agency, the promotions included Rear Adm. Vincent Sibala, who now serves as the Commander of the Western Naval Command, and Rear Adm. Constancio Arturo Reyes Jr., the Commander of the Western Mindanao Naval Command. Commodore Francisco Cacho was promoted to Deputy Commander of the Western Naval Command, while Commodore Junjie Tabuada is now the Deputy Commander of the Philippine Fleet. Commodore Estelito Lagadia Jr. assumed the role of Deputy Commander at the Naval Installation Command. Brig. Gen. Einstein Calaoa Jr. was promoted to Chief of Marine Staff of the Philippine Marine Corps, and Commodore Lorenzo Bolor Jr. is now the Chief of Fleet Staff of the Philippine Fleet.
Vice Adm. Ezpeleta emphasized to the newly promoted officers the importance of upholding leadership and service standards. He highlighted the need for the officers to focus on the welfare and readiness of personnel, urging them to take their mentorship roles seriously. "Take to heart your obligation to contribute to the welfare and overall readiness of our personnel," he stated.
Ezpeleta also stressed the significance of professionalism, excellence, and integrity, noting that these qualities are crucial for empowering personnel and shaping the future direction of the Navy. The officers were encouraged to support the Navy's goal of becoming a modern and multi-capable force.
