Signal No. 1 Possible in Cagayan Valley and Catanduanes Due to Tropical Depression Crising

Manila: The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said Wednesday Tropical Cyclone Wind Signal No. 1 could be hoisted in portions of Cagayan Valley either Wednesday night or early Thursday due to Tropical Depression (TD) Crising. Crising packs maximum sustained winds of 45 kph near the center, and gustiness of up to 55 kph. As of 4 p.m., it was located 625 km east of Virac, Catanduanes, moving west-southwestward at 20 kph.

According to Philippines News Agency, if Crising maintains its westward movement, the hoisting of Signal No. 1 in Catanduanes is also possible, PAGASA said. The southwest monsoon, meanwhile, still causes strong to gale-force gusts across Palawan, Siquijor, Bohol, Camiguin, Southern Leyte, Surigao del Norte, and the Dinagat Islands.

Likewise, rough seas will prevail over the western seaboard of Palawan; the northern and eastern seaboards of Catanduanes; the northern and western seaboards of Zamboanga del Norte and Camiguin; the southern seaboards of Negros Oriental, Siquijor, Bohol and Southern Leyte; the eastern seaboards of the Davao Region; and the seaboards of Surigao del Norte and Dinagat Islands.

Moderate seas will be experienced over the northwestern seaboard of Occidental Mindoro; the southwestern seaboards of Antique and Negros Occidental; and the eastern seaboards of Northern and Eastern Samar. Mariners of motorboats and similarly sized vessels are advised to take precautions when venturing out to sea.

PAGASA said Crising will continue to bring heavy rains across Camarines Norte, Camarines Sur, Catanduanes, Albay, Sorsogon, Masbate, Northern Samar, Eastern Samar, Samar, and Biliran. The southwest monsoon will likewise cause heavy rains over Palawan, Occidental Mindoro, Cebu, Antique, Iloilo, Guimaras, Negros Occidental, Negros Oriental, and Zamboanga del Norte, PAGASA said.
