Manila: San Juan: St. John's Institute-Bacolod downed Pusong Azul, 25-20, 25-17, for its second straight win in the 2026 Shakey's Juniors National Invitationals Monday at the Playtime FilOil Arena in San Juan.
According to Philippines News Agency, Caera Celis finished with 16 points on 12 attacks, three aces and a block for the Falcons in the 57-minute encounter. "Bumawi kami ngayon (We made up for it today)," said Celis, who was efficient on her attacks with a 12-of-18 spiking clip. "We prepared last night because we had lapses in our last game. We tried to improve on our skills today," she added.
Kara Feril chipped in nine points while Mishaella Geraldizo made seven excellent sets. Jhenica Sadia scored seven points for Pusong Azul, which also bowed to Arellano University High School, 18-25, 13-25, in the morning. Cassandra Paralejas scored 15 points on 12 kills, two aces and a block for the Arellano Lady Braves, who improved to 2-1. Nina Cahanap and Ysabelle Borja added seven and four points, respectively in Arellano's 55-minute victory.
In the other game, One La Salle defeated California-based guest team Perfect Set Dream Makers, 25-19, 25-17, for its first win in two outings. Action continues Tuesday starting at 1 p.m.
