Pangasinan: Pangasinan Vice Governor Mark Ronald Lambino said President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr.'s fourth State of the Nation Address (SONA) is a reaffirmation of the national government's intent to foster inclusive and sustainable development.
According to Philippines News Agency, Lambino expressed that while the address focused on broad priorities, its relevance will be measured by how well these translate to meaningful improvements in provinces like Pangasinan. He communicated this in an online message on Monday following the SONA.
Lambino emphasized that Pangasinan is continuing to push forward with its initiatives in infrastructure, agriculture, education, healthcare, and public service. He hopes to see stronger alignment and support from the national level to further these efforts.
He stated, "The call for unity and progress is something we take seriously, especially as we work closely with our communities to respond to everyday needs. It is our hope that the administration's plans will consider the unique contexts and strengths of localities like Pangasinan."
During his SONA, President Marcos pledged to intensify government efforts and programs to achieve food security. He vowed to focus on learning recovery, mental health, and health services for students, particularly those in remote areas. Additionally, he addressed challenges related to classroom shortages and aimed to strengthen sports development across the country by supporting programs that nurture future champions from the grassroots level.
President Marcos also instructed a review of flood control projects completed by the Department of Public Works and Highways over the past three years.
