Taguig: The city government of Taguig has opened its community park in Barangay West Rembo where residents and visitors alike can spend their time together and take leisurely strolls during the Christmas season. During the opening and lighting ceremony at the TLC People's Park on Saturday night, Taguig Mayor Lani Cayetano stressed the importance of having a public space where families can unwind and reconnect.

According to Philippines News Agency, Mayor Cayetano remarked, "Ang parke para sa akin ay lugar kung saan nagtitipon ang bawat pamilya, magkakaibigan. Dito po tayo nagtitipon upang magkaroon ng kasiyahan, patatagin ang ating mga relasyon sa isa't isa, at magkaroon po ng lugar para po tayo ay makapagpahalaga sa ating kalusugan (A park for me is a place where families and friends can gather to have fun, strengthen their relationship, unwind and improve their health)."

Situated along the south bank of the Pasig River, the TLC People's Park covers around three hectares, offering wide-open spaces and a refreshing environment for community gatherings. The Saturday night event, which was witnessed by a large crowd, featured the ceremonial Christmas tree lighting countdown, a flash mob finale, and a walkthrough of the merchant booths showcasing local products and holiday treats, with the Taguig March Band providing live music.

To add Yuletide spirit to the place, colorful "parol" (Christmas lantern) installations also surround the park inspired by Taguig's story shaped over the years by builders, weavers, and communities united by their shared identity. Cayetano highlighted Taguig's historical association with the sawali weaving industry, noting its transformation from weaving materials to weaving the lives of its residents.

Also among the park's many attractions is the newly opened TLC Food Park-EMBO, which began operations in October as a lively destination that celebrates local flavors and supports small entrepreneurs. TLC Food Park-EMBO features food trucks serving snacks, hot meals, and desserts, giving park-goers more choices to enjoy while strolling or spending time with loved ones.
