Manila: The tropical depression (TD) currently positioned outside the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR) is not expected to enter the region, although its trough may lead to localized flooding in the eastern sections of Visayas and Mindanao, according to a PAGASA forecaster on Tuesday.

According to Philippines News Agency, John Manalo from the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) reported that the tropical depression, situated 1,325 kilometers east of Eastern Visayas as of 3 p.m., is moving northeastward and away from PAR. Despite its movement, the depression's trough continues to influence weather conditions in the eastern Visayas region.

In a 5 p.m. briefing, Manalo acknowledged reports of flooding in certain areas of Visayas and Mindanao. He advised the public to remain vigilant as localized flooding remains a possibility due to rainfall associated with the depression's trough. Areas such as Eastern Visayas, Northern Mindanao, Caraga, Davao Oriental, Davao de Oro, Sulu, and Tawi-Tawi are expected to experience scattered rains and thunderstorms.

PAGASA also forecasts that the northeast monsoon will bring light rains to the Cagayan Valley, Bicol Region, Aurora, and Quezon, with isolated light rains anticipated across Metro Manila and the rest of Luzon. The remainder of the country is likely to encounter isolated rain showers resulting from localized thunderstorms.

Additionally, moderate to strong winds and moderate to rough sea conditions are expected over Luzon and the eastern sections of Visayas and Mindanao. In other regions, winds will be light to moderate with coastal waters ranging from slight to moderate, as indicated by PAGASA.
