Pasay city: The Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) announced that the upcoming National Quality Technical Vocational Education and Training (TVET) Forum, scheduled for July 8, is set to enhance the quality management system (QMS) in the country. The initiative aims to align with industry requirements and international standards.
According to Philippines News Agency, the forum in Pasay City will serve as a platform to introduce and reinforce internationally recognized quality standards in TVET training. This annual event will feature panel discussions on aligning TVET programs with industry demands, empowering trainers to bridge the skills gap, upskilling and reskilling for future work environments, preparing the workforce for emerging job markets, and integrating green and digital skills in TVET.
TESDA Secretary Francisco Benitez emphasized the importance of a growth mindset in a news release, stating, "A growth mindset is the cornerstone of success in an uncertain future. It encourages learners to see challenges as opportunities, to embrace continuous learning, and to develop resilience through effort and perseverance."
The forum will bring together representatives from government agencies, industry and TVET associations, and administrators from public and private TVET institutions. Additionally, the event will feature the conferment of the TESDA System for TVET Accreditation and Recognition (STAR) Award and the TESDA Seal of Integrity.
The STAR Award recognizes training programs that surpass the minimum registration requirements set by TESDA. The Seal of Integrity is awarded to accredited assessment centers that consistently adhere to TESDA's operating procedures and quality management principles during national assessments.
