Three Weather Systems to Bring Rains Across the Philippines on Wednesday

Manila: More areas in the Philippines are forecast to get drenched with rain showers Wednesday due to three prevailing weather systems. The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) has indicated that the easterlies and the shear line will bring moderate to heavy rains over Sarangani, South Cotabato, Davao Oriental, and Davao Occidental. According to Philippines News Agency, scattered rains and thunderstorms attributed to the easterlies are expected in Eastern Visayas, Caraga, Davao Region, and Soccsksargen. Additionally, the northeast monsoon, known locally as "amihan," is predicted to bring rains over Cagayan Valley, the Cordillera Region, Bicol Region, Aurora, Quezon, Oriental Mindoro, Marinduque, and Romblon. These conditions could potentially lead to flash floods or landslides in affected areas. The rest of Luzon is anticipated to experience isolated light rains due to the northeast monsoon, while isolated rain showers caused by the easterlies are expected in other parts of the country. Meanwhile, Northern and Central Luzon, along with the eastern sections of Southern Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao, will face moderate to strong winds and moderate to rough coastal waters. In other regions, winds are expected to be light to moderate, with slight to moderate sea conditions. No low-pressure area has been monitored for potential tropical cyclone formation at this time, PAGASA confirmed.
