Maguindanao del sur: Two individuals were killed and another injured in a daylight ambush along the national highway in Datu Saudi Ampatuan, Maguindanao del Sur. The incident took place on Thursday in Sitio Panang, Barangay Salbu, Datu Saudi Ampatuan.

According to Philippines News Agency, Capt. Steffi Salanguit, spokesperson for the Police Regional Office-Bangsamoro Autonomous Region (PRO-BAR), reported that the victims were traveling in a pickup vehicle towards Cotabato City when they were ambushed. Two men on a motorbike opened fire on the vehicle around noon.

The victims were identified as Kamarudin Mangansakan Ebus, a businessman, and Mohalidin Esmael. Both succumbed to their injuries at the scene. A third individual, Kenedie Adin, a laborer, was injured and quickly transported to a hospital by responding officers.

The motive behind the attack remains unknown, and authorities are still working to determine the identities of the attackers. Investigations are ongoing to uncover more details about the incident.
