Transmission Lines Remain Safe Amidst Tropical Storm ‘Crising’: NGCP

Manila: Transmission lines and facilities remain 'under normal operations' as of 5 p.m. Thursday amid continuous rains brought by Tropical Storm (TS) Crising in several parts of Luzon, according to the National Grid Corporation of the Philippines (NGCP).

According to Philippines News Agency, the 5 p.m. bulletin from the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) reported that the center of Crising is estimated to be around 135 km east of Aparri, Cagayan, moving west northwest at 20 kph. The storm is reported to have sustained winds of 75 kph near the center and gustiness of up to 90 kph. It is expected to exit the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR) by 2 p.m. Saturday.

Tropical Cyclone Wind Signal (TCWS) No. 2 has been raised over several areas including Batanes, Cagayan, the Babuyan Islands, Isabela, Apayao, Kalinga, parts of Abra, the eastern portions of Mountain Province and Ifugao, Ilocos Norte, and the northern portion of Ilocos Sur. Meanwhile, TCWS No. 1 has been issued for Quirino, Nueva Vizcaya, the rest of Mountain Province, Ifugao, Abra, Benguet, and other regions, reflecting the extensive reach of the storm's impact.
