Manila: Tropical Depression (TD) Huaning exited the Philippine Area of Responsibility at 5 a.m. Tuesday, according to the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) in its 11 a.m. bulletin.
According to Philippines News Agency, the tropical depression, which was packing maximum sustained winds of 55 kilometers per hour near the center and gustiness of up to 70 kph, was located 880 kilometers northeast of extreme Northern Luzon as of 10 a.m. Despite its presence, the cyclone is unlikely to directly affect the country or alter the sea conditions of the coastal waters, as per the weather bureau. Huaning is expected to make landfall over the Ryukyu Islands in Japan on Tuesday.
Meanwhile, PAGASA has also spotted a low pressure area (LPA) positioned 1,675 kilometers east of Eastern Visayas, outside the Philippine Area of Responsibility, as of 8 a.m. The weather bureau noted that this LPA has a medium chance of developing into a tropical cyclone within the next 24 hours.
