Manila: Parts of the country will experience rains caused by Tropical Storm Nuri's trough and the northeast monsoon or "amihan", the weather bureau said Wednesday. Nuri was last tracked 1,290 kilometers east of Eastern Visayas, outside the Philippine Area of Responsibility. Its trough will bring scattered rains and thunderstorms across Dinagat Islands, Surigao del Norte, Surigao del Sur, and Davao Oriental. Moderate to heavy rains could result in flash floods or landslides, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said.

According to Philippines News Agency, "amihan" will bring light rains over Batanes, Cagayan, Isabela, and Aurora, as well as isolated light rains over Metro Manila, the rest of Luzon, and Visayas. The rest of Mindanao will experience isolated rain showers due to localized thunderstorms. Luzon and the eastern sections of Visayas and Mindanao will experience moderate to strong winds and moderate to rough seas. Elsewhere, winds will be light to moderate with slight to moderate seas, PAGASA said.
