Trump Imposes Entry Ban on Citizens of 12 Countries Starting Monday

Washington: Citizens from 12 countries will be banned from entering the United States starting Monday, as announced in a proclamation by US President Donald Trump. The move also includes entry restrictions on citizens from seven additional countries.

According to Philippines News Agency, the countries affected by the full entry ban are Afghanistan, Burma, Chad, the Republic of the Congo, Equatorial Guinea, Eritrea, Haiti, Iran, Libya, Somalia, Sudan, and Yemen. The ban is set to commence at 12:01 a.m. EST (04:01 a.m. GMT) on June 9.

In addition to the full ban, a partial entry ban will be imposed on citizens of Burundi, Venezuela, Cuba, Laos, Sierra Leone, Togo, and Turkmenistan. These restrictions will specifically target certain types of visas for individuals from each of these nations.

Visas issued before the effective date of the order will retain their validity, as stated in the proclamation.
