Dumaguete: WrkPod, an Australian company specializing in connecting Filipino professionals with international employers, has inaugurated its latest site in Dumaguete, Negros Oriental. The new facility offers up to 800 seats for placement, marking a significant expansion in the region.

According to Philippines News Agency, the site was officially opened by co-founders Dale Beaumont and Kody Thompson. The ceremony took place at the Perpetual Help Community Cooperative, Inc. (PHCCI) Capital Building, with the presence of WrkPod officials and partners. Beaumont highlighted the transition of staff and virtual assistants to the new headquarters, which will occupy four floors with varying workspace layouts tailored to client requirements. Each floor is designed to accommodate over 120 desks.

This new site is WrkPod's fourth in Negros Oriental, complementing existing locations in Cebu City and Bacolod City, Negros Occidental. The company has secured a 15-year lease from PHCCI Capital, aiming to create 10,000 jobs for Filipinos by 2028. Thompson, the CEO, shared plans to fill the new facility's seats within the year, with current hiring at 60 people per month and potential expansion to other facilities in the region due to increasing overseas client demand.

Beaumont also noted that WrkPod has facilitated international exposure for some of their virtual assistants by bringing them to Australia. Chris Docker, a British national and partner in the company, emphasized the strength of the Filipino workforce, reflecting on his 18 years in the Philippines before returning to the UK. Docker's previous business process outsourcing company in the Philippines was acquired by WrkPod, enhancing their operations and potential in the industry.
