Manila: Tropical Storm (TS) Jangmi, which has entered the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR) early Friday, has been locally named Domeng. The storm is currently exhibiting maximum sustained winds of 75 kilometers per hour (kph) near its center, with gustiness reaching up to 90 kph. It is positioned 1,345 kilometers east of southeastern Luzon and is moving northwestward at 20 kph. As of now, no wind signal warnings have been issued for any part of the country.

According to Philippines News Agency, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) indicated that TS Domeng is unlikely to have a direct impact on the country's weather within the next 24 hours. However, the storm is enhancing the southwesterly windflow, which is expected to bring heavy rains to the western parts of the Philippines starting Sunday.

The enhanced southwesterly windflow will also result in strong to gale-force gusts across many regions of the country beginning Saturday, as reported by PAGASA. Citizens are advised to stay updated on local weather forecasts and be prepared for possible heavy rainfall and gusty conditions over the weekend.
